Another candle? No. Gift Idea Advisor turns what you know about someone — occasion, relationship, their actual interests, your budget — into 5–8 concrete gift candidates, each with a reason that points back to something you said.

How it works

  1. Pick the occasion and who it's for, tick their interests, set a budget.
  2. Add things to avoid — "no more mugs" is a powerful sentence.
  3. Get candidates spread across categories: consumables, experiences, hobby gear, wearables, home, media, subscriptions. No two ideas in the same lane.

Why the reasons matter

Every pitch names the interest or detail it leans on, so you can judge it in one glance — and so generic "they might like a scented candle" filler has nowhere to hide. If your brief is thin, the tool says so and leans into safe choices; if it's rich, it tells you what one extra detail would sharpen.

What it won't do

It won't invent a product that doesn't exist, blow the budget with a "stretch" pick you didn't ask for, or sneak past your avoid list. It's ideas for the gift — the buying is still yours.

Questions

How specific are the ideas?

Specific enough to search for: "a pour-over starter set with a hand grinder", not "something for the kitchen". Real, well-known brands appear only when they're genuinely the standard choice.

Why do I need to list interests?

Because that's the whole point — the ideas must ground themselves in something real about the person. Two or three interests is the sweet spot; one works, and a thin brief gets safe, broadly likeable ideas with a note saying what would sharpen them.

Does it respect the budget?

Every candidate carries a price band consistent with your budget, and ideas are spread across categories so you can pick where to splurge within it.

What happens to what I type?

Your inputs are used to produce the ideas and are then deleted with the task record after the retention period. They are never used to train models.
