Never guess what a care symbol means again. Photograph the tag inside a shirt or on a sweater, and Laundry Label Scanner explains all five care rows — wash, bleach, dry, iron and professional care — in plain English.

How it works

  1. Lay the tag flat and photograph it with the symbol rows filling the frame.
  2. Each readable symbol is matched against a fixed reference library and explained word for word — the advice never changes and is never softened.
  3. Symbols too worn to read are listed under "Not sure about" instead of being guessed.

Where the advice comes from

The AI only recognises which symbol it sees. Every piece of advice comes from a hand-written reference library of the standard care symbols, so "do not bleach" always means exactly that. If no symbols can be read at all, the tool says so and tells you what to fix instead of showing a half answer.

What it won't do

It doesn't cover exotic symbols outside the five standard care rows, and it can't recover a symbol that's physically unreadable — badly worn tags will come back with honest gaps. When in doubt, the fixed advice is the conservative choice, but your favourite sweater deserves a spot test.

Questions

Which symbols does it know?

The five standard care rows: washing (washtub), bleaching (triangle), drying (square), ironing, and professional care (circle) — 22 symbol variants in total, covering what's on most tags sold in Europe and North America.

The advice sounds generic — is it?

Deliberately. The wording comes from a fixed library so it never drifts or gets softened by the model. "Do not wash" always means do not wash. If a symbol could mean two things, the tool leaves it blank under "Not sure about" rather than guessing.

What if my tag is worn out?

Unreadable symbols come back as honest gaps, not guesses. If none of the five rows can be read, you get a short note on what to fix instead of instructions. Better light and a closer shot fix most worn-tag cases.

How do I know it read the tag right?

Each row names the shape it saw, such as "square, circle, one dot". Glance at your tag and check the shapes match before you wash something you care about.
