There is one photo you love — the grin, the curls, the way they look at the camera. Photo to Comic turns it into a single storybook artwork where they are the hero: soft watercolour, bold comic ink, or a gentle 3D cartoon, still unmistakably them.

How it works

  1. Upload one clear photo of one person, facing the camera.
  2. Pick a style: storybook watercolour, comic ink, or soft 3D cartoon.
  3. Compare before and after. Love it? Download it. Want a different take? Run it again — same style for another roll of the dice, or switch styles and run again.

A keepsake tool for grown-ups

This tool is made for adults: parents making something for a child's wall, couples marking an anniversary, families celebrating a pet-loving grandparent. You operate it; the people in the photos are your own family. Photos of children are processed immediately and never used to train anything — this is not a children's app, and it isn't marketed to children.

Three looks we draw ourselves

  • Storybook watercolour — soft washes and pastel light, a page from a well-loved picture book
  • Comic ink — bold clean outlines, flat vivid colour, comic-panel energy
  • Soft 3D cartoon — rounded, plush, big expressive eyes, family-animation warmth

All three are written in our own art direction — no imitations of living artists, no licensed characters.

Will it still look like them?

That's the hard rule in the edit: face shape, eyes, hairstyle, expression — the artwork re-imagines the person, it doesn't replace them. It's an illustration, so details are simplified into the style; but family should recognise them at a glance.

Which photos work best

One person, facing the camera, whole face in frame, even light — a regular phone photo is perfect. A quick pre-check refuses photos that would not translate well: group shots, side profiles, faces covered by hands or sunglasses, blurry or tiny photos. A refused run generates nothing and costs nothing — retake the shot and try again.

Every artwork is labelled

Each image carries a small "AI-generated" badge in the corner — always on, part of every download. Share the artwork as what it is: an AI-made keepsake.

Private by design

We don't do face recognition and we don't build face profiles — your photo is used as a styling reference for your artwork, nothing more. Your upload and the artwork are kept for 30 days so you can download them, then deleted. Your photos are never used to train models.

Questions

Will it really look like them?

That's the hard rule in the edit: face shape, features, hairstyle and expression stay clearly theirs — the artwork re-imagines the person in a new style, it doesn't invent a new face. It is an illustration, so details are simplified into the style; if a result feels off, run it again in the same style or switch styles — every run is a fresh take.

Why was my photo refused, and why wasn't I charged?

The pre-check only passes photos it can do right: one person, face clearly visible and roughly front-facing, sharp enough to read, and an actual photograph. Group shots, side profiles, covered faces, blurry or tiny images are refused before anything is generated — you see the specific reason, and a refused run costs nothing. Retake the photo facing the camera in good light and run it again.

Can I use photos of my child?

Yes — you are the one using the tool, and that's the design: a keepsake tool for parents and other grown-ups, not an app for children. A child's photo is processed immediately, the original and the artwork are deleted after 30 days, and nothing from it is used to train models. The artwork carries an "AI-generated" label, and we never market to children.

Does it work for pets?

The first version needs one clear human face to anchor the likeness, so a pet-only photo is refused for now. A photo of a person stays fine even if a pet is in the frame next to them. Pet-specific looks are on the roadmap.

How is my photo handled?

We don't do face recognition, face matching, or face templates — your photo is used as a styling reference for your artwork, nothing reusable is extracted. Your upload and the artwork are kept for 30 days so you can download and compare, then deleted automatically. Your photos are never used to train models.

Is the artwork labelled as AI-made?

Yes. Every image carries a small "AI-generated" badge in the corner, always — it's part of the downloaded file, so the artwork stays honestly labelled wherever it's shared.

Can I get a whole storybook, or prints?

Not yet. The first version makes one artwork per run — retry or switch styles until it feels right, and download what you love. Multi-page storybooks and print delivery are on the roadmap.
