Rolling Block — Free Spatial Puzzle Game

Rolling Block is a spatial puzzle: a 1×2 block rolls end over end across tiles. Standing it covers one cell; lying covers two — and that difference is the whole game.

30 levels, five mechanism groups

  • Basic rolling — learn how the block turns and where it can stand.
  • Switches & bridges — soft switches toggle bridges on any contact; lettered tiles only hold while their bridge bit is open.
  • Fragile floors — cracked tiles shatter under a standing block; cross them lying down.
  • Heavy switches — they only move when the block stands upright on them.
  • Grand combinations — everything at once.

Every level ships with a machine-verified fewest-move count solved by the same rules engine the game runs — the star thresholds are honest.

Fair tools

  • Undo any time (the run then counts as assisted); hints search from your current position with a 250 ms budget.
  • View the optimal solution as a demo that never counts as your clear.
  • Daily level rotates at 00:00 UTC; challenge codes replay any level for a friend.

Questions

How does the block move?

It rolls one step per input. Standing upright it covers one cell; lying it covers two. The roll direction determines the new orientation, so planning ahead matters.

What are the blue and orange circles?

Blue are soft switches — any contact (even lying) toggles the bridges on their letter bit. Orange are heavy switches — they only toggle when the block stands upright on them.

Why did I fall?

Either a landing cell had no floor, a bridge closed under the block, or you stood upright on a fragile (cracked) tile. The game tells you which. Undo or restart from the pause of shame.

What do the letters on tiles mean?

A lettered tile is a bridge segment. It only holds the block while the bridge bit with that letter is open; switches toggle those bits.

Are the level minimums real?

Yes — every level's "best possible" is computed by BFS over the exact same rules engine, and re-verified by tests on every run.

What are challenge codes?

After clearing a level you get a result text with a code like ATG1-RB-r1-c1-l7 that replays that level from the start. Scores are self-reported for friendly play.

Where is my progress saved?
