Estimate what's on your plate without a kitchen scale. Take a photo of your meal and Food Portion Estimator gives you a weight range for every item — in grams and in household measures you already know, like a fist of rice or a palm of chicken.
How it works
- Shoot your plate from above in even light.
- Every recognised item comes back with a gram range and a household reference (fist, palm, cup, tablespoon, egg).
- Anything the photo can't pin down is listed separately so you can name it yourself — unknown items are never silently counted as zero.
Good to know
- Ranges are honest: a mixed stew gets a wider range than a piece of bread.
- This tool estimates weights only — for calories and macros from a meal photo, use Calorie Scan.
- Works best when items are separate and visible; a deeply mixed casserole will be less precise.
What it won't do
It doesn't identify every dish in the world, and it won't guess a name for something it can't see clearly — you'll get a description to confirm instead. It is not a medical or dietary service; use the estimates as a starting point for your own tracking.
